After a pandemic-required and mayor’s office-encouraged hiatus, the Canaltown Short Spooky Movie Festival returns. The 7th annual Spookyfest, featuring spooky moving pictures from the world over and our own back yard is coming back to The Cooperage as part of 2023's holiday, Halloween, festivaltown season in downtown Honesdale!

Sliding fee scale ticketing will be found in the Festival Pass Market. Reserved festival passes will be available for will call pickup at the Spookyfest box office, on the day of the festival, beginning at 6PM, when doors open. Show starts at 7:30PM. There will be availability to attend, on the day of, while seating lasts.

Free outdoor presentation of “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” with live musical accompaniment and original score by Lone Duck (Rowan Lynch - Sax, Bob Wilson - Bass, Nate Zaur - Keys, Pat Marcinko - Drums), taking place in The Cooperage’s pocket park, the night before the 14th annual Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival. Free outdoor presentation of Charlie Chaplin’s “Behind The Screen” and “One A.M.” with live, original score by Nefarious Musical Accompaniment for Silent Films (Katie Morell - Clarinet, Mark Reinhart - Guitar, Jason Smeltzer - Theremin/Gong/Narration), taking place in The Cooperage’s pocket park. BYOB/Concessions.

A celebration and exploration of 2019 Girl Scout cookies, during April’s Second Saturday Honesdale. Cookies will be un-boxed and shared, beginning at noon. This event is meant to honor the local landscape’s gifts by taking place in a public location, within the community’s collective commons, and in appreciation of continuous inspiration cycles. The Canaltown Moving Movie Festival is a movie festival, exploded into parts, and strewn throughout downtown Honesdale, PA and capping Discover Honesdale. Multiple venues will become pop-up theaters and each will be playing their own, theater-specific playlist of movies. Showtimes at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm. 

Each movie set will replay at each theater and coordinated showtimes will allow festival-goers to choose their own festival adventure. The Moving Movie Fest's selections can be viewed in any order, with time to grab drinks or a meal between viewings or to circle back for second viewings of favorites before the night is through.

Downtown H'dale becomes the festival grounds for the Moving Movie Festival. Hope to see you there. Theater venues: Here & Now Brewing Company, Loose Leaf Pages Inc., and ReMax Wayne. Awards ceremony and dance party to follow at Basin and Main at lot 21.

The Canaltown Short Spooky Movie Festival is coming. Our fourth annual festival of spooky, moving picture shorts is returning to The Cooperage for the 2017 Halloween season in downtown Honesdale! Tickets: $15 (advance), $20 (door). Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm. This is a BYOB event.

Come meet the filmmakers, including their pal Shrewbert, and support local trail building and river improvement efforts at Cinema 6 in Honesdale. Tickets: $12 w/ $2 going toward the Wayne-Pike Trails & Waterways Alliance (multiple community groups including the Honesdale River Project). This is a BYOB event.
